What is Creative Together?
Creative Together is a brilliant opportunity for dance lovers to take part in a short creative project with professional choreographers Simeon Weedall and Marta Scott. Across three weekend sessions, you’ll work as a group to create a new dance piece that will be performed throughout the year across Brighton & Hove – starting with our Marina Studios Summer Showcase on Friday 22nd August.
Following on from the success of our Dance It community group in 2023, this new project offers a warm welcome to returning and new participants alike.
Who we’re looking for:
We’re inviting up to 15 enthusiastic dancers from any style or background to join the group. While the project is open to all, you’ll need a basic level of dance experience and a willingness to learn. We’d also encourage you to attend regular classes at Marina Studios to help build your stamina and confidence in learning routines.
Project Highlights
• Dance Workshops: Three Sunday sessions from 10am–1pm on 20/07, 10/08, 17/08 at Marina Studios.
• Performance Opportunity: Take to the stage at our Summer Showcase on Friday 22nd August.
• Professional Studio Space: All sessions will take place at Marina Studios – a fully accessible, inclusive venue. You’re welcome to visit the space in advance – just get in touch.
• Connect with Others: Meet like-minded dancers from across the East Sussex community and beyond.
